In order to improve and promote quality of life, persons with abnormal visual fields, constricted fields and scotoma, must have good skills to use their owns eyes. However, they often forget to move their eyes and they cannot catch objects by the fixed eye. We recommend and introduce to move their eye. In this report, our eye movement trainings were indicated for twenty-four persons. We demonstrated characteristics of their vision, especially an useful area of visual field. High contrast letters were in front of their face and they have to stare at a letter as moved horizontally, vertically, and near and far. In terminal points of the movement, gazing the letter lasted for 10 seconds. These trainings were performed once or twice a month in hospital and daily trained up for 5 minutes at home. After trainings were performed for 3 or 4 months, all persons have imaginatively enlarged their visual field and felt easier to read letters and walk around. And they can give a panoramic view with using a concave lens. Our principals are that persons understand their useful field, and that they let an eye move a large degree to a near object, but a little bit to a far object.
These findings suggest that our training might improve and promote their quality of lives. We also try to train up other persons with hemianopsia and unilateral spatial neglect.
