THE LEONARDO DA VINCI PROJECT:EDUCATION & TRAINING IN LOW VISION FOR PROFESSIONALS

Thanks to European Funding from the Leonardo da Vinci Programme Experts from five European Nations develope a comprehensive programme of training and education for Professionals who work in the field of low vision.
The purpouse of this project is to combine all of the relevant knowledge and skills in a comprehensive course of education and training using the experience and knowledge of a wide range of professionals from the within the European Union. The programme covers a wide range of professional disciplines with the aim of helping people with a visual impairment to become expert in their own vision.
The Project Programme consists of six modules: visual function, client centered rehabilitation counseling, optics, contrast light and size, vision assessment and vision training.
The partners of the project are: United Kingdom, Bob Greenhalgh from GDBA Birmingham University; The Netherlands, Aart Koijman from Groeningen University; Norway: Ingrid Sorenson and Sidsel Brondmo from Huseby Centre Oslo; Spain: Dolores Lorenzo Lopez and Maria Jesus Vincente from ONCE Madrid; Italy: Mario Broggini, from Low Vision Centre Varese.
