PSYCHO-SOCIAL IMPLICATION OF VISUAL IMPAIRMENTS, EDUCATIONAL APPROACHES AND CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Aim: to find out effect of visual disability on the psycho-social development of children material and methods: this study was conducted in 50 patients to find out what is the effect of visual disability in children. The psycological analysis was done by a psychologist and visual assessment was done by ophthalmologist. The patients were divided into three groups of visual disability i.e mild, moderate and severe.
Results: The visual impairment effects the self respect of child, disrupts the emotional overtone andeffects his growth and social relationship according to the severity of visual disability.
Conclusion: visual impairment effects thepsycho-social development of child and proper community education and implementation of integrated educational programmes is the answer to overcome these problems.
